Google employees describe the Bard AI announcement as "rushed" and "botched."

Employees at Google are said to have expressed displeasure with the company's management, in particular CEO Sundar Pichai, over how it handled this week's unveiling of ChatGPT rival "Bard." They reportedly called the announcement "rushed" and "botched."

On the well-liked internal forum Memegen, staffers criticised the Bard announcement, calling it "rushed," "botched," and "un-Googley," according to CNBC.

"Sundar, the Bard launch and the layoffs were hastily, poorly, and narrowly planned. Please resume maintaining a long-term perspective "read a meme that featured an image of Pichai looking serious.

According to the article, there were many employee votes for the role.

Another meme claims that rushing Bard to market confirmed the public's anxiety about us.

It was also brought up on Twitter that a Bard advertisement misrepresented the telescope that was used to obtain the first images of a planet outside of our solar system.

I wouldn't trust it just yet, a user tweeted, "Unfortunately, a quick google search would tell us that JWST actually did not "capture the very first photo of a planet outside of our own solar system."

Microsoft, a competitor of Google, unveiled its new Bing earlier this week, which is powered by "next-generation" ChatGPT artificial intelligence (AI), and upgraded its Edge browser with additional AI features.
